As the church grows larger, there becomes a pressing need for the church to grow smaller as well. When the church services are large, it is extremely hard to get to know other people. The answer to that is Home Based Small Groups.

Small groups provide a close circle of people who meet together regularly to study God's Word and pray together. Small groups create an atmosphere where people can develop close relationships with one another. Small groups allow us to do life together!

We will begin offering small groups at Mountain View Christian Church on January 17, 2010. These groups will meet together weekly, on Sunday evenings, to study together, pray together, fellowship together, and do life together.

Space is limited in some of the homes these groups will meet in. If you are interested, contact us at the church office today to get involved in a group. Of course, as interest in the groups grow, more opportunities will be added.

To start off, we will be offering three small group opportunities. Each study, as well as its location, is listed below.

Ingalls Home - The Coming Of The One: Clearly Foretold, Missed By Many

Take a fresh look at the prophecies that foretold the coming of Christ

Today's world has conditioned us to expect instant gratification. We have become a population that has forgotten the disciplines gained from waiting. Rarely do we find occasion to stand on the figurative shore, look to the horizon, and feel mounting anticipation and eventual fulfillment. For hundreds of years, however, God's people waited for the coming of the Messiah. But they had hope. They had God's promise.

Journey through the many prophecies that pointed to the coming of Jesus Christ. Light. Defender. Champion. Healer. Eternal Priest. Shepherd. Cornerstone. These are a few of the prophecies Jesus fulfilled. You'll better understand the significance of fulfilled prophecy and the impact it has on you; where you are; and in your life.

Directions to the Ingalls' home:
Brian and Sheryl live just behind the church, at 1413 Wade Street. Follow 17 south until you get to the church. Turn left on Pruett Street, and follow that down beside the church. As Pruett turns left and becomes Wade, the Ingalls' home is the first house on the right.

Randleman Home - The Embraceable Mystery... God

Examine the many charicteristics of God

God has many contrasting aspects of who He is. He is far more complex than we could ever hope to understand fully. He is holy and mysterious, and yet as near and personal as our dearest friend. He is everywhere, and yet we can encounter Him in specific places. From a distance, He created a universe from nothing by the power of His word. By contrast, we see God digging down into the dirt, using that dirt to form a man, and then, in a very intimate way, breathing the breath of life into his nostrils. This is an "up-close-and-personal" God. God, as we encounter Him in Jesus Christ, is an "embraceable mystery." Explore together the puzzle of these contrasts as you deepen your relationship with God.

Space is limited in the Randleman's living room. Please contact the church office to see if there is room available to join this study.

Directions to the Randleman's home:
Go north of Highway 60 on Ash Street, which is just east of the hospital stop light. Head north on Ash for two blocks, through a four-way stop. The Randleman home is located at 1210 North Ash Street, directly across from the Mountain View Health Care Nursing Home facility.
